“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
While today we celebrate the legacy of equality, peace, and service left by Martin Luther King Jr., today is also another opportunity to make the commitment to remember and practice these ideals everyday. We all want to live in a world where everyone has access to their basic needs and comfort: food, shelter, clean water, health care, and the ability to create the lives that we want. For those of us that have these things it is easy to take advantage of our privledge and ignore the problems of the third world, and even the poor, hungry, and homeless within our own communites. Everyday we have the choice to make a difference. Get inspired! What will you do to celebrate equality and pursue justice for all the world’s citizens this year?
“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
