A tough economy didn’t stop Great Shape! Inc. during Saturday’s 5th Annual “Fun-Raiser” as the non-profit raised more than just spirits at the Historic Ashland Armory. More than 150 people attended the event, raising nearly $32,000 to support Great Shape!’s projects in Jamaica this coming fall. Executive Director Joseph Wright said, “It was touching to think that despite this economy, people are still finding it in their hearts to give.”

It was a night filled with music, food, a silent auction, and smiling Jamaicans. Volunteers, donors and many others attended the event. A live auction capped the evening with a showcase of gifts donated by supporters. Trips like the week-long getaway to Jamaica at the Negril Beach Club Condos sparred most bidding wars, but dinner with Great Shape! Inc. founder Georgene Crowe was also highly sought after. Other auction items included mountain escapes, authentic artwork, and a wine-tasting excursion to Walla Walla.

A big thanks to our sponsors, donors and volunteers that made Saturday’s event a success!
