There are numerous reasons why thousands of people volunteer abroad each year. Many people adventure abroad because they’re searching for a substantial experience as they travel across the world. Others venture out with a desire to learn a new language, experience a new culture, or to meet new people. When you combine those desires with a longing to volunteer, you have an opportunity to help those who strive to improve their lives within their communities. Our newest intern, Jamee Mason, is headed to Jamaica to participate in Great Shape! Inc.’s SuperKids program, a literacy enhancement project based in Jamaica. As her time in Jamaica progresses, Jamee hopes to learn not only about herself, but also of the challenges of living and working in a completely new environment.  Our interviews with Jamee will dive into what she expects, what she experiences, and after her time in Jamaica is over, what she learned on her journey.

Check back in to hear first time SuperKids volunteer, Jamee Mason, share her personal experiences about traveling abroad, helping others, and volunteering in a completely unique place, #JameeInJamaica!

One Love!
