We are excited about our new additions to the Great Shape! family. The following interns will be working in the Great Shape! communications office this summer. They will handle all things messaging and communicate with our supporters, volunteers…and the world!

Damon Pilgrim
Damon’s energetic, friendly personality is a great addition to our Great Shape! intern team. Damon is currently working on his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. Damon worked as a Fleet Manager (in charge of 35 +/- truck drivers) for a Spokane based long-haul flat-bedding company called System Transport.  Before that, he was in charge of the parts department at Cobalt Truck Equipment.  Damon has two beautiful daughters, ages 4 and 6. He loves hunting, sports, and working on old cars.  Damon is passionate about promotion and the creative side of marketing and hopes to someday work in advertising.
Hannah Phalen
Hannah is a Communication major with a double minor in Business Management and Spanish. Hannah was born and raised in Seattle, WA, and she attends Lesley University which is located in Boston, MA. She is currently the marketing/advertising manager for the Lesley Public Post (her school newspaper) as well as a tour guide at Lesley. A few fun facts about Hannah are that she has been a vegetarian for a little over a year, which she says is particularly hard in the summer months with all the BBQ’s!! When she was a little girl she lived overseas on the Island of Guam for 2 years.  And…she used to be a sailing instructor in upstate NY.  After the summer, Hannah plans to return to Boston in order to complete her senior year at college.
Annie Worman
Annie is currently a double major in Public Relations and English Literature at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. Her past experience in the communications field has been in visual communications and graphic design. This past school year she worked as Publicity Manager for Gonzaga Student Body Association, producing posters and advertisements for club events on campus. Annie is very excited about the opportunity to learn more about Jamaica and the amazing volunteers that make Great Shape! an amazing organization. She said, “Great Shape! has already had an impact on me. It is truly a family of volunteers and supporters. Every person is excited about the cause and happy to provide their wealth of knowledge to us interns. I really appreciate it, and am super excited to be a part of this movement.”
Heather Hurley

Heather is interning in our communications office, Let it Shine Media as the administrative intern. She is a shining light in the office with her glowing personality. She has worked in an office for 15 years, and is excited about learning the art of communications and marketing. She said, “My husband encouraged me to go to college and I am now graduating with an AA in Administrative Assistant. I am so thankful that he did because I have learned more than just knowledge. I have made many friends.”
