Meet the New Interns, Melissa and Katharine!

January 30, 2013greatshapeincIntern, Uncategorized

Melissa and Katharine

My name is Melissa Barringer and I come from the small town of Conrad, Montana. I am a senior Communications major at Whitworth University I and have been splashing around on the varsity swim team since my freshman year.

I love meeting new people and learning new things about them which is one reason I am interested in public relations. I am excited to intern for Let it Shine Media and Great Shape! Inc. to gain knowledge of how to work with a non-profit organization and to get my foot through the door into the world of public relations.

I am looking forward to going through new experiences at Let it Shine and being able to learn from everyone in the office. I know that what I will learn over the next few months here will help to catapult me into the real world after graduation.

Hello!! My name is Katharine Stark and I am one of the new interns at Let it Shine and Great Shape! Inc. I am a senior at Gonzaga University pursuing a B.A. in Public Relations and a minor in Promotions. I was born and raised in a little town called Lafayette, which is located just outside the beautiful city of San Francisco. Although I miss the city by the bay, I have found my love for the city of Spokane, and all of its hidden gems. Some of my favorite hobbies to do on my off time are hiking, running, pilates, and boxing. I love staying active and fit!

I am excited to be a part of the Let it Shine and Great Shape! Inc. team! As a new intern I am eager to gain insight and knowledge on the non-profit organization Great Shape! Inc. I am thrilled to be a part of a humanitarian project that empowers children and families. Helping those in need is a value I try to carryout day to day. As Charles Dickens once said, “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”
