This week’s spotlight volunteer is Stephanie Slater, she came to us from Scottsdale, Arizona. She was a big help this year with the Sealant Project in Negril!
What is the Sealant Project??
Great Shape! Inc.’s volunteers on the 1000 Smiles dental project launch a community-based dental program. It’s designed to cut the amount of cavities in half for Jamaicans. The program uses sealants and fluoride treatments to promote optimum dental health.

Why is it important for you to volunteer with Great Shape! Inc.? To educate, provide care, establish a sustainable program of prevention to improve the health and lives of people who don’t have the same opportunities as me. To give back to a people with such a loving spirit when I have so much in life!
What is your greatest passion? To provide and care for people as I would like to be cared for.
What inspired you to volunteer with GreatShape! Inc. My passion (as above) and my BFF Carla Jones, RDH.
What has been your most memorable moment while in Jamaica? The love that was shown to me by the children. My heart is full!!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself: I am a Certified RN in Inpatient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring, I LOVE Labor & Delivery and helping women during the pregnancy and birth process. I like to golf, love the ocean – walking on the beach and scuba diving, but most of all I love my children Morgan and Ian – they are my greatest pleasure!!
