The Art of the Exhale

April 10, 2013greatshapeincUncategorized

At Let It Shine Media, Great Shape!’s communications department, we always practice ‘the art of the exhale’. Breathing exercises are important for maintaining focus, finding your center, and energizing or relaxing your body.

Before every staff meeting we practice the art of the exhale. Deep breaths to get centered, followed by an energizing and focusing breathing technique; deep breath in (6-8 seconds) and short breath out (4 seconds).

Breath is an essential part of life, but something that people don’t pay much attention to. Remembering to practice breathing exercises can help strengthen and de-stress parts of your body. So take 5 minutes out of your day to practice the art of the exhale, or add it to another activity such as yoga, running or meditation. The possibilities are endless!
