Introducing our Newest Board Members

Why was it important to you to join the Great Shape! Inc. board of directors?
Joining the Great Shape! Inc board of directors felt like a natural extension of the work I’m passionate about. As a volunteer dentist myself, I have experienced the life-changing impact that compassionate care and access to services can have. Becoming a part of the board allows me to contribute on a deeper level and help advance a mission that truly aligns with values, empowering communities and creating sustainable, meaningful change.
What do you hope to bring to the board in terms of perspective and/or special skills or talents?
I hope to bring a blend of clinical insight, hands-on volunteer experience and a wellness-centered perspective to the board. I understand both the challenges and opportunities involved in delivering high-quality care in underserved areas. I also enjoy collaborating, problem-solving and finding practical ways to support volunteers and communities.
What are your hopes for Great Shape! Inc. in the future?
My hope is for Great Shape! Inc to continue expanding its reach, deepening its partnerships and creating more opportunities for both volunteers and communities we serve. I’d love to see our impact continue to grow further, both in the number of people who come to volunteer with us, to whom we serve and the long-term outcomes we help create.

Why was it important to you to join the Great Shape! Inc. board of directors?
I want to begin answering this question by saying how honored and humbled I am to serve on the Great Shape! Inc. Board of Directors. It is important for me to be on the Board of this organization as it’s mission—to provide free dental and vision care, education, and humanitarian support to underserved communities throughout the Caribbean—perfectly aligns with my heart and core values. I deeply love my profession and the opportunity it gives me to care for and uplift others. Working with Great Shape! Inc. has truly been life changing or both my husband and myself. Every year when we return home from volunteering, our hearts are overflowing with love and gratitude for the incredible people we meet and the impact we were able to make.
What do you hope to bring to the board?
As a hygienist, educator and advocate for community service, I am passionate about engaging the next generation of dental and dental hygiene professionals. I work hard to create opportunities for students to volunteer, learn, and develop a lifelong commitment to serving others, whether it be locally, across the state or internationally. I strongly believe in the power of paying it forward, and am committed to help expand Great Shape! Inc.to reach more lives and help more communities. So many people’s lives can be transformed through compassionate care and I am excited to be part of the team that will make a difference.
What are your hopes for Great Shape! Inc. in the future?
I am hopeful in the future of Great Shape! Inc, the organization will touch more communities while building new connections throughout the Caribbean and beyond. I hope to see the organization ’s volunteers change even more lives through love, service, and human kindness. As an educator, I hope to inspire a new generation of dental and hygiene students to join Great Shape Inc.’s mission—helping them understand the importance of service, cultural humility, and giving back throughout their careers. By involving young professionals early, we can build a sustainable foundation of compassionate volunteers who will carry Great Shape! Inc.’s mission forward for decades to come.
