Following the Annual Seattle Volunteer Appreciation Party, the Board Members of Great Shape! had their first board meeting of the new year. Tons of important information was covered and it is clear that fund-raising activities and project planning are on the right track.

Project dates and fees for 2011 are in the works and early registration will be up and running mid to late February. All project leads; Joe, Steven, Georgene, Gretchen, and Brad discussed things that will be changing in the next year, ranging from new locations to an increase in the number of volunteers.

The big fund-raising activity for early summer, June 25th, is the Annual Ashland Fundraiser. It will be held at the Ashland Armory and everyone is excited about the items that will be in the silent and live auction. More updates about the Ashland Fundraiser will be showing up on Facebook and Twitter in the coming months.

The most exciting thing discussed in this board meeting was the expansion of Great Shape! to other Caribbean Islands. St. Lucia, will be the next island added to Great Shape!’s humanitarian work. Throughout 2011 Joe will continue to work with Sandals and other organizations in order to get projects happening in St. Lucia by fall 2012.

The next board meeting will take place in late spring, new updates to follow.
Until then…One Love
